By downloading or using Exhale ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Exhale is a self-help and wellbeing tool that supports you through a breakup with tracking, journaling, breathing exercises, and an AI coach. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment, and is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. The AI coach is an automated system: its responses are generated by software, may be inaccurate, and are not the advice of a human counselor. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis or thoughts of self-harm, contact local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
Unsent letters includes an optional mode that shows a simulated reply. You must understand what it is before using it: the reply is fiction generated by software. It is not your ex-partner, it is not written or seen by any real person, and it is not a prediction of what that person would actually say, think, or feel. Nothing you write is ever delivered to anyone. Do not treat it as insight into a real person's state of mind, and do not rely on it to make decisions about a real relationship. The mode is off unless you switch it on, and you can switch it off at any time. If using it makes you feel worse, stop and use the breathing, coach, or panic tools instead — and if you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
Exhale requires an auto-renewing subscription (weekly, or yearly with a 3-day free trial where offered). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown at purchase unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store account settings. If you cancel a free trial before it ends, you will not be charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a purchase is completed. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
You agree to use the app only for its intended personal, non-commercial purpose. You must not attempt to abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its services, or use the AI coach to generate unlawful or harmful content.
Journal entries, unsent letters, and other content you create remain yours and are stored on your device. You are responsible for what you write. Coach messages — and, if you switch on Reply mode, the messages in that conversation — are transmitted for processing as described in our Privacy Policy.
The app, including its design, text, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable law. These terms don't grant you any rights other than personal use of the app.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance. We may suspend service for abuse of Section 3.
